But my nearly two-weeks visit to this beautiful city ended up something more. In all honesty, I really did feel like a rockstar. So, this is how it feels. I arrived there expecting normal courtesy calls since the workshop formed part of an event the city government has planned. But by the end of my visit, since my photos (mug shot?) had been on their newspaper headlines a couple of times, posters of the workshop has been splattered all over the city with our names on it, and ABS-CBN Zamboanga did an interview of me --- people started recognizing me in the streets. The other times I was able to go was courtesy of this projects Seair has lined up. I really am greatful for this opportunity with them. For the second time, the magazine hired my services for this shoot to Coron Palawan for their November/December issue. When accepting shoots, I really am comfortable working with an assistant photographer. More than anything, he's there to help boost my confidence because quite honestly, I still second guess myself when it comes to these kinds of work. There are projects I feel nervous about because I'm not sure if I can deliver. But on this trip to Coron, I didn't have another photographer with me. I do have plenty of materials waiting to be added to my online gallery. Some of these photos are even the type I'm excited to present since they are new. But for the past few months, I've been living in a suitcase. It's hard to imagine this because I didn't really like to travel before. We were driving through Tagaytay yesterday and right after Petron, on the right side going to Sta Rosa Exit on SLEX, a billboard caught my eye. I thought to myself - nice composition, processing was good. Until I realized it was MY PHOTO. In February of 2007, a group of photographers were invited to shoot at this location. The shoot was actually a "contest". The details of it are all but unclear to me now. But I can own up to the photo and boldly say it's mine because I was the only one who took this shot with my model. That girl you see is my good friend Ann Francisco, who is also one of the photographers who joined the "contest". This is the band Sino Si Kat who Ku did a photoshoot for. He was browsing his files while I was also in his studio working on something when I saw a particular shot of his that really caught my eye. I asked Ku if I can process it and we discussed and collaborated. This is the outcome. A little back story about me - singing is my frustration. Being in a band is my frustration. I'm fascinated by people who can sing well and I'm attracted to the fashion that comes with being a band member. Don't ask me to sing please!!! But maybe this explains how I dress up. Anyway, I've always wanted to try working with a band's portfolio. My first try in processing (of a band or singing group) is this one I now consider a masterpiece.
